William Daniels is an American actor, who was born to Irene and David Daniels. His father was a builder and he has two sisters named Jacqueline and Carol. When William was only four and a half years old, he made his first appearance on stage in the form of a tap dancer. Later he and his sisters appeared on their own song and dance show on the radio which was named The Daniels Family. Daniel attended the Northwestern University from where he graduated in 1949. He married actress Bonnie Bartlett in June 1951. The couple has been together since then and has parented two sons named Michael who is an opera singer and Robert who is an artist. David has played husband to Bonnie on many shows and the couple has also won an Emmy for their portrayals of a married couple on a hit cult TV show of the 1980’s, named St. Elsewhere, in which they played Dr. and Mrs. Mark Craig. William was elected as the president of Screen Actors Guild in 1999 and remained in the same position till 2001.He is often seen playing the role of one of the members of the famous Adams family of Early American history.
William has spent most part of his successful adult life in show business. He started his acting career as a theatre artist at the age of fifteen. Since then he has acted in about 86 television shows and 20 movies. His prominent shows on television include Robert Montgomery Presents, Captain Nice, The Rockford Files, Quincy M.E., St. Elsewhere, Kim Possible and Boy Meets World etc., besides doing the voice over for the wonder car KITT on the original series of Knight Riders. David has also acted in movies like Ladybug Ladybug, The President’s Analyst, 1776, The Blue Lagoon, Blind Date, The Benchwarmers and Blades of Glory etc. In addition William has directed a few episodes of St. Elsewhere.
He also appeared as himself on shows like Toast of the Town, Night of 100 Stars II and The American Revolution etc. William has been nominated for four different awards, including three Emmy Awards and has also won four other awards, including two Emmy Awards. William was nominated for a Tony Award under the category of Supporting Actor in a Musical, for his work in ‘1776′, but he turned down the nomination as he had obviously played the lead role in the film.

The best thing about KITT is that not only it can navigate on its own, but it can also talk. It is provided to the lone crime fighter Michael Knight to help him in his crusade against crime.
